Colors by Llarowe Chiclet Manicure - Nails of the Day

My mani of the day today. I couldn't decide on just one color and I had a couple of new ones that I wanted to try out so I decided to go with a brightly colors chiclet mani.

All of these are Colors by Llarowe (CbL) holographics. The first picture is taken indoors in indirect sunlight. The second is taken indoors in direct sunlight.

From thumb to pinky, the polishes are: Seahawks Lime, Young Turks, Rezipped, Paper Moon and Bring Us The Girl. All of them are two coats with top coat.

Every single one of these is gorgeous and the sun shot shows by CbL has quickly grown to be one of my favorite brands. They all applied perfectly, very buttery consistency in all of these polishes. I do have a few that are thick but these ones were all perfect, with Young Turks being the only one edging on a bit too thick.

(indoors in indirect sunlight - colors appear very accurate on my screen)
(indoors in direct sunlight - colors are quite accurate once again)

Paco Rabanne Lady Million - Perfume Review Week #3

Day three of perfume review week, Paco Rabanne - Lady Million. The initial notes of this fragrance were sweet, but not quite fruity, with a hint of florals on the end. As the fragrance has developed, it has become a more subtle scent that seems to be equally sweet and all I can describe as clean. It's almost like a soap sort of scent. Not in a bad way, mind you, just that it has a very clean sort of scent to it along with it's sweetness. I could see myself wearing this scent to work or more casual venues as it seems more business oriented than on the sexy side. A very nice scent on the whole, clean, fresh and sweet.
The description of this fragrance is: "With notes that include raspberry, orange flower, white honey, lemon, neroli and jasmine, Paco Rabanne Lady Million is a unique women's scent that is sure to please the noses of those who surround you. Created by Paco Rabanne, this 2010 perfume has a moderate scent that isn't overwhelming. The casual fragrance is ideal for work or for when you're headed out to spend the day with friends or family members. The mature scent will last through any situation."

It comes packages in a gemstone shaped gold bottle which is quite cute. I was unable to find a simple site for sizes and prices, but it looks to come in several sizes and types (eau de toilette, eau de parfume, and 'gold edition') which range from $50-120 in my searches.

Personally, I do not think I would purchase this scent. While it remains something young, it definitely feels like a mature scent to me - one that I might find more appealing if I were in the business world for networking. It doesn't seem very unique to me, a combinationf of clean and sweet is not too hard to find. There is a warmth to the scent but it just doesn't have the romantic or girly feeling that I like in a fragrance. It's very nice, a very calm scent, but one I don't think I would want to actually purchase at this point in my life. If I found myself in the business world, it might be on my lst.

Marc Jacobs Honey - Perfume Review Week #2

For the second day of my perfume review week, I've chosen Marc Jacobs - HONEY. The first notes of this fragrance are very fruity and high, but as it sits it develops into something sweet and a bit softer, more akin to it's name, like Honey. The fruity notes remain high but fadeout into a more subtle sweetness that is just gorgeous. It reminds me a bit of DKNY Be Delicious when you first spray it on. This is definitely a summer scent but one that is subtle and sweet with just a hint of florals. Great for a day out (or in) it's a playful and girly scent that makes me think of warm summer days.

The description of this scent is: "This buzzing fragrance energizes with the freshness of green pear and a bright splash of fruity punch and juicy mandarin. Orange blossom resides at the heart of the fragrance and mingles with the nectars of honeysuckle and peach for a note of sparkling femininity. Honey, vanilla, and smooth woods dry down to a warm, golden base."

It is packaged in a very cute bee-hive style round bottle with decorative bees to accompany. It comes in three bottle sizes as well as a rollerball mini which range from $30-105 depending on the size chosen.

This scent is really nice, I could certainly see myself purchasing it in the future as a summer fragrance. Great for staying in or going out, this scent reminds me of fun days in summer and is one I could see myself wearing a lot because it's not overbearing and holds fruity and sweet notes for quite some time. While the initial scent is a bit strong, it quickly blends out into a soft and gorgeous smell of warm sunny days.

Thierry Mugler Alien - Perfume Review Week #1

A visit to my local Beauty Boutique means I now have 7 new perfumes to review for you. The first one is the one I tried today which is Alien by Thierry Mugler. It's a soft scent, I feel like I would want to wear this perfume on occasion where I want a girly scent with less hints of sexy or sultry and more of innocence and playfulness. It's a powdery sort of scent, floral in a way that reminds me of a sunny day.

The description on the packaging is: "Discover Alien, radiant and mysterious, the elixir of absolute femininity. Be seduced by the soothing solar energy of this extraordinary fragrance from elsewhere. Luminous like a brilliant solar flower, the fragrance exudes a positive energy, charged with mystery. Evoking the scent of wood warmed by intense sunlight, Alien is sensual and intriguing, yet as soft and rich as the caress of cashmere."

This perfume is bottled in a gorgeous gemstone bottle. It comes in three sizes, as well as a refill bottle as each of the bottles are refillable. The price ranges from $60-130 depending on the bottle size.

It's a very pleasant scent, but not one I feel I would wear enough to purchase. I'll keep my sample for some of those particular occasions where a girly, light scent is appropriate.

Influenster imPRESS Manicure VoxBox Review

I recieved the imPRESS Manicure VoxBox from Influenster last week and got around to taking off my polish and getting ready to try them out a couple of days later. I tried the crackle set, which was a black base with a silver sparkle crackle called 'Working Girl'. I also recieved 'Dancing Queen', a black and white zebra stripe design. Unfortunately the imPRESS nails were simply not suited to my nails. My thumbs were too large for the size that these come and the rest of my fingers I had a hard time trying to find suitable sizes. They were also shorter than my already short natural nail length and so I decided to forgo putting them on. They simply did not work for my nail size.

However, if you have average sized nail beds and relatively short length nails, I believe these would be a wonderful addition to any polish lover's collection of tricks. They are sturdy and if they had come in sizes that worked for my nail beds I would have held on to them for occasions when nails break and I need to chop them all down. Some of the patterns are particularly nice, while I wasn't overly interested in the ones I recieved I did look on their website to find some of the others. The Disney Villains collection was of particular interest to me, but again unfortunately these simply don't fit my nails.

They were given to a friend on whom they look spectacular (you can't even tell they're not her real nails) and she seems to have been having great luck with the imPRESS Manicure thus far.
